Heanor Remembers
Remembrance Parade & Service
This year, the Remembrance Parade will take place on Sunday 12th November 2023. The parade will start from the front of Heanor Town Hall at 10:00am and make its way to Heanor Memorial Park.
The parade will move off and turn left onto Market Street, to the traffic lights and turn right onto Ilkeston Road. The Lord Lieutenant and the Mayor of Heanor & Loscoe Town Council will take the salute on the dais outside the first park gate. The parade will carry on to the second park gate and turn left into the Memorial Park, marching up to the Memorial.
The parade will halt around the Memorial where a short service and Falklands and RBL wreaths will be laid, last post, 2 minutes silence and reveille. The parade will then march down to the new “Fallen” memorial, where a short service will take place, then march back to St Lawrence Church.
The parade will halt outside the Church, wreath layers fall out, lay wreaths in order. There will be a 2 minutes silence, last post, 11:00am and reveille.
The parade will then fall out, into the Church for the Service of Remembrance.
Please note there will be limited space within the Church.

Road Closures
To ensure the safety of people taking part in the parade and for members of the public who come along to support Remembrance, road closures have to be put in place for a short while for the duration of the event. There will be a dedicated team of people at each junction where the road is closed and the closure will be clearly signposted.
