Fallen

A tribute to the people of Heanor in recognition of their sacrifice and dedication to the war efforts during WWII
Picture of Fallen a tribute to world war 2
The story of Fallen.

Fallen is a sculpture by local artist Andy Mayers, it is a tribute to the people of Heanor in recognition of their sacrifice and dedication to the war efforts during World War Two.

The sculpture was commission by Heanor & Loscoe Town Council and is made from Corten steel. It features a father in uniform kissing his child goodbye, against the backdrop of leaves falling from a tree. The falling leaves symbolise the 137 soldiers from Heanor and surrounding districts who gave their lives during World War Two.

Fallen can be seen in Heanor Memorial Park.
