Mundy C of E Junior School Horticultural Show
Mundy C of E Junior School will be holding its much-loved Horticultural Show on Saturday 13 June from 12pm to 4pm, promising an afternoon packed with fun for the whole community.
The annual event is always a highlight in the local calendar and will feature a wide range of attractions and activities including craft stalls, inflatables, a BBQ, ice cream, animals, walkabout characters, a dog show, raffle, show tent and much more.
Families, friends and residents of all ages are invited to come along and enjoy the celebrations, support local exhibitors and businesses, and take part in this fantastic community event.
The Mayor, Councillor Alan Abernethy, will officially open the event and will also be presenting prizes during the afternoon.

Join Us at the 50+ Forum β Tuesday 16 June
Residents aged 50 and over are invited to attend the next 50+ Forum, taking place on Tuesday 16 June from 1:30pm to 4:00pm at the Wilmot Street Centre.
The 50+ Forum provides an opportunity for local people to come together, meet others in the community, and learn about services, activities, and support available to older residents. It is also a chance to share views, raise issues that matter to you, and help shape local initiatives that support people aged 50 and over.
Whether you are already involved in community activities or are looking to find out more about what is available locally, the forum offers a welcoming and informal environment where everyone is encouraged to participate.
Attendees will have the opportunity to hear updates on local projects, connect with community organisations, and discuss topics of interest with fellow residents and representatives from local services.

Heanor Family & Youth Festival

A free Family & Youth Festival will be taking place on Saturday 4 July from 12.00pm to 3.00pm at Wilmot Street Recreation Ground, Heanor, DE75 7EF.
The event will include free activities, games, live music, food and entertainment for families and young people, with plenty to see and do throughout the afternoon.

Heanor Beer & Music Festival Returns to the Town Centre
Get ready for an unforgettable day of live music, great beer, and community spirit as the Heanor Beer & Music Festival takes over Heanor Town Centre on Saturday 25 July from 12 noon.
Building on the success of previous festivals, this year's event is set to be bigger and better than ever, with 17 venues across the town joining together to create a unique festival experience. Visitors will be able to enjoy a fantastic variety of live music performances, locally sourced ales, craft beers, ciders, and refreshments throughout the day and into the evening.
The festival celebrates everything that makes Heanor special β whether you're a beer enthusiast, a music lover, or simply looking for a great day out with family and friends, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.
Come along and explore the town, visit the participating venues, discover new favourite performers, and support local businesses while enjoying the lively festival atmosphere.
With entertainment taking place across multiple locations, visitors can create their own festival journey, moving between venues and experiencing a wide range of musical styles and hospitality offerings throughout the day.
Admission to the festival is free, making it a perfect opportunity to spend a summer day in the heart of Heanor.

Heanor by the Sea
Bring the seaside to Heanor this summer at Heanor by the Sea on Saturday 1 August, taking place on Heanor Market Place from 9am to 2pm.
The event will feature a variety of free family entertainment and attractions, including pop-up games, walkabout characters, Pinxton Puppets, a giant deckchair for seaside selfies, an ice cream van and lots more.
Residents and visitors alike are invited to come along and enjoy a fantastic day of summer fun in the town centre.

Heanor Remembers
Remembrance Parade & Service | Sunday 8th November
This year, the Remembrance Parade will take place on Sunday 8th November 2026. The parade will start from the front of Heanor Town Hall at 10:00am and make its way to Heanor Memorial Park.
The parade will move off and turn left onto Market Street, to the traffic lights and turn right onto Ilkeston Road. The Lord Lieutenant and the Mayor of Heanor & Loscoe Town Council will take the salute on the dais outside the first park gate. The parade will carry on to the second park gate and turn left into the Memorial Park, marching up to the Memorial.
The parade will halt around the Memorial where a short service and Falklands and RBL wreaths will be laid, last post, 2 minutes silence and reveille. The parade will then march back along the same route to the Church.
