Summer Fair & Family Fun Day at The Dwelling Place
Come along for a fantastic day of family fun at The Dwelling Place Summer Fair & Family Fun Day on Friday 4 September, from 10.00am to 3.00pm, at The Dwelling Place, Mansfield Road, Heanor, DE75 7AQ.
With FREE entry, there's something for everyone to enjoy. Browse the market stalls, try your luck on the raffle and tombola, enjoy fun alley games, face painting and crafts, tuck into delicious BBQ food and homemade cakes, and much more. It's a great opportunity to spend time with family and friends while supporting a local community event.

π Heanor Fire Station Car Wash β Come Along and Support a Great Cause!

Residents are invited to Heanor Fire Station on Saturday 12th September for a special Car Wash event in support of The Fire Fighters Charity.
The event, organised by the local fire service, is a great opportunity to get your car, van or motorbike cleaned while helping to raise valuable funds for a charity that supports serving and retired firefighters and their families.
But itβs about more than just a clean vehicle! Visitors will have the chance to:
π Bring along their car, van, motorbike or other vehicle for a wash
π¨βπ Meet members of the local fire service and find out more about their work
π¬ Learn more about becoming an on-call firefighter
π€ Meet the crew and have a chat about the role and opportunities available
β€οΈ Make a donation to The Fire Fighters Charity
ποΈ Show your support for our local fire station and the wider firefighting community
The event's message is simple: Clean Vehicles β’ Stronger Firefighters β’ Safer Communities.
All donations are welcome, so whether you're stopping by to have your vehicle washed, interested in finding out more about life as a firefighter, or simply want to show your support, please come along and help make a difference.

Get ready for a spooktacular evening of Halloween fun in Heanor as Heanor Vision presents the Halloween Trick or Treat Trail!
Families are invited to dress up in their favourite Halloween costumes and take part in a safe and fun-filled Trick or Treat Trail around participating shops in Heanor town centre.
The event is a fantastic opportunity for children and families to enjoy the Halloween celebrations while exploring the town centre and supporting local businesses.

The event aims to provide a safe and spectacular Halloween experience for local families, while bringing the community together and encouraging people to enjoy and support Heanor's town centre.
So grab your witches' hats, vampire capes, pumpkins and broomsticks and get ready for an evening of tricks, treats and Halloween magic!

Heanor Remembers
Remembrance Parade & Service | Sunday 8th November
This year, the Remembrance Parade will take place on Sunday 8th November 2026. The parade will start from the front of Heanor Town Hall at 10:00am and make its way to Heanor Memorial Park.
The parade will move off and turn left onto Market Street, to the traffic lights and turn right onto Ilkeston Road. The Lord Lieutenant and the Mayor of Heanor & Loscoe Town Council will take the salute on the dais outside the first park gate. The parade will carry on to the second park gate and turn left into the Memorial Park, marching up to the Memorial.
The parade will halt around the Memorial where a short service and Falklands and RBL wreaths will be laid, last post, 2 minutes silence and reveille. The parade will then march back along the same route to the Church.

Stallholder Applications Now Open for the Heanor Christmas Light Switch-On
The Town Council is pleased to be working in partnership with Heanor Vision to organise this year's annual Heanor Christmas Light Switch-On.
We are inviting local businesses, charities, community groups, crafters and traders to apply for a stall at this popular community event, taking place on Saturday 22 November, from 2.00pm to 7.30pm. The event attracts visitors from across the local area and offers a fantastic opportunity to showcase your products, services or organisation as part of a festive afternoon and evening in the town centre.
