Pirate Takeover Festival a Huge Success

The Pirate Takeover Festival brought a fantastic atmosphere to Heanor Market Place on Monday 17th August, with families and visitors turning out in large numbers to enjoy an afternoon of free entertainment and activities.

Organised by Further from the Sea in partnership with Amber Valley Borough Council, the event provided a fun-filled pirate-themed experience for all ages. The Market Place was transformed into a colourful pirate adventure, with families enjoying the activities, entertainment and creative attractions on offer.

The event was particularly successful in bringing people together, with the area buzzing throughout the afternoon. There were plenty of smiles, laughter and happy faces as children and adults alike got into the pirate spirit. The fantastic turnout created a lively and welcoming atmosphere and demonstrated the value of free, family-friendly events in the town centre.

With colourful decorations, music, activities and plenty of opportunities for families to get involved, the Pirate Takeover Festival proved to be a memorable afternoon for the local community.

The event was supported by Heanor & Loscoe Town Council alongside Amber Valley Borough Council and Furthest from the Sea.

A huge thank you goes to everyone who helped organise and deliver the event, to all the volunteers and performers who made the day possible, and most importantly to everyone who came along and helped make the Pirate Takeover Festival such a great success.

It was wonderful to see Heanor Market Place so busy, vibrant and full of community spirit. We look forward to welcoming everyone to more events like this in the future!
