Heanor & Loscoe Town Council Committees
The Town Council has five Committees, each with responsibility for considering matters within its specific area of responsibility. While Committees are unable to make final decisions, they consider reports, discuss local issues and make recommendations to the Full Council. These recommendations are then considered and either approved or rejected at the monthly Full Council meeting.
Members of the public are welcome to attend Committee meetings. You are welcome to observe the proceedings or, during the Public Participation section of the agenda, raise matters that relate to the Committee's remit.

Assets & Environment Committee
Purpose
To provide strategic oversight of council assets and environmental matters within the town, to monitor condition, priorities and longer-term requirements, and to make recommendations to Full Council where appropriate.

Community Asset Transfer Committee
Purpose
To develop, progress and deliver a Community Asset Transfer proposal in respect of the Grammar Heanor, including its associated lands and buildings.
To act on behalf of the Council in all matters relating to the proposed transfer.
To engage with relevant stakeholders including but not limited to Amber Valley Borough Council's professional advisors and the local community.

Community & Events Committee
Purpose
To oversee community engagement, civic activity, events and grant-related matters within the town, and to make recommendations to Full Council where appropriate.

Purpose
To provide strategic oversight of the Council's financial management, governance arrangements, internal control framework and regulatory compliance, and to make recommendations to Full Council where appropriate.
